Cabernet Sauvignon with a small amount of supporting Syrah

Aromas of ripe black currant, blackberry, and dark plum are layered with notes of dried herb, warm spice, and a touch of cedar. On the palate, bold black fruit flavours are complemented by rich tones of dark chocolate and vanilla, while subtle peppery spice and earthy minerality add depth. Full bodied and structured with supple, ripe tannins, the blend pairs the elegance of Coombsville Cabernet Sauvignon with the supporting depth and spice of Syrah.

This classic Merlot shines with flavours of blackberry and cherry, intertwined with notes of sweet spice, soft vanilla, and velvety tannins. Long growing seasons and moderating lake influences in the region allow the grapes to develop rich fruit expression while preserving their natural elegance and balance. ​

In a Winexpert first, juice for this limited release was pre-oaked in house, steeping for several months with whisky oak chips specially sourced from
Wayne Gretzky Estates Winery and Distillery.

During this 6-month steep, the juice absorbs flavours and tannin from the whisky oak, adding roundness to the body, elevating tanning, and infusing it with nuanced sweet spice, brown sugar and vanilla character. These whisky-influenced sweet notes round out a bold wine rich with flavours of blackcurrant, jammy wildberry and plum, underlaid with mocha, spice, and smoky toasted notes.
